Cotswolds it is then
the day before we hit the Cotswolds to play for the GWR Swing dance at Toddington railway station 40's event. Really looking forward to this one, we will start the day as The Kalamazoo Dance Band playing in US army uniforms playing a Tea/swing dance with a mix of ballroom, sequence, latin and jive numbers and mainly featuring our female Vocalist Laura Brookes since she won't be there in the evening. Then we go all quick change to set up as Kal's Kats for the evening big swing

Hangar 42 swing dance
Blimey, what a night - The stage was set in the superb Hangar 42 at Blackpool Airport amidst a backdrop of Spitfire fighter planes and Hurricanes. Sure, it was mighty cold in there, no doubt about that, but the dance floor was packed and swinging from the first note we played - We just love these events - so full of energy and vibrance and everyone In the Mood - literally. Laura Brookes was first class as always and the band played like demons.https://youtu.be/I8xmJ26AEXU

Spitfire Ball
this saturday sees the band travelllng up to blackpool Airport for the first of a series of light bash hangar swing dances - promises to be great fun albeit we are told to take coats since it is likely to be freezing cold there given the hangar is 80 years old and will be holding two Spitfire fighter planes looking in on us to make sure we have a great night of dancing and music.

Retro then War years
Crackin' news for Kal's Kats - we've been invited to play at Retrofestival 2017 on the Newark Spitfire stage lineup from 11am to 1.30pm 10th June - After that, we'll be hot footing it to morph into our sister band The Kalamazoo Dance Band to play at Wicksteed at War - all swingin'
