

Notts and the sea
Well well, what a weekend - firstly we saw the band roll into Oakleigh Lodge British Legion in Notts for a 40's dance and what a lovely venue that is - the band played their hearts out as per usual and lovely to have Paul Hollis in with us on lead Alto and clarinet. The pinnacle was having our trumpet player Roy Symonds sound out a stirring rendition of Reveille in remembrance to the fallen. Wartime in the Vale and Retrofestival 2017
Blimey, we're on overdrive at the moment. Both bands are super busy travelling the UK playing at some absolutely fabulous events and creating a stir wherever we go. The Retrofestival was fantastic and along with Red&Ginger holding the dance session saw us have a fantastic time. Then last weekend we were in the 30' heat playing superb swing dance in the evening and then again on the sunday midday to a capacity audience - Makes it all worthwhile to see so many smiling faces and


GCR- Great Central Railway 1940's Weekend
Well now, what a fantastic weekend with the band at GCR Quorn station. Folks all over the place in uniforms - U.S. and German and all having a great time. Superb flyover from a Merlin engined 32 litre Spitfire and a fantastic saturday night big swing dance with folks going mental as per usual which is so satisfying for the band. Then on Sunday we returned to do it all again for an afternoon tea/swing dance playing waltzes, quicksteps and foxtrots as well as the trusted swing
